Internal confrontation is intensifying at Gazprom Neft amid questions over multi-billion ruble spending on digitalization and the maintenance of its IT unit, which, according to sources, costs up to 11 billion rubles per year.

Sources claim that the head of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, held a tough conversation with the head of Gazprom Neft, Alexander Dyukov. At the same time, the transfer of the procurement function under Gazprom’s control is being discussed — this concerns financial flows exceeding 300 billion rubles per year.

Particular attention is focused on Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Gazprom Neft, Evgeny Kozhevnikov. His team is associated with the operations of the structures "Digital Procurement Services," the "Kronstadt Engineering Center," and "Gazpromneft-Supply."

Additional pressure is being created by sanctions-related problems at the Serbian NIS (Petroleum Industry of Serbia) and the increasing influence of the parent structure through Alexander Dzhalyabov. In the industry, what is happening is increasingly being called a battle for control over the largest financial flows in the oil and gas sector.
